What file formats does FileShrimp support?
FileShrimp supports over 30 video and image formats including MOV, MP4, MKV, AVI, HEIC, RAW, DNG, JPEG, PNG, and more. If FFmpeg can read it, Manny can analyze it.
Do I need FFmpeg installed?
FFmpeg is required for video processing (extracting thumbnails from video files). Image files will work without it. You can download FFmpeg from ffmpeg.org.
How do credits work?
Each file you analyze uses 1 credit. New accounts get 100 free credits. You can purchase additional credits in packs of 50, 200, or 500 directly in the app. Credits never expire.
What is the BYOK License?
BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) is a one-time $25 license that lets you use your own Anthropic API key for unlimited file processing. You pay Anthropic directly for API usage (about $0.003 per file). Great for power users who process lots of files.
Are my files uploaded to the cloud?
Your original files never leave your computer. We only send small thumbnails to the AI for analysis. These are processed in real-time and not stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I undo a rename?
FileShrimp keeps a full history of all renames in your session. You can export this as a CSV file at any time. While there's no automatic undo, you can use the history to reverse changes manually.
I didn't receive my license key. What do I do?
License keys are emailed within a few minutes of purchase. Check your spam folder first. If you still don't see it, email us at support@fileshrimp.com with your order details and we'll help you out.
Is there a Windows version?
Windows support is coming soon. Currently FileShrimp is only available for macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later. Sign up for updates on our homepage to be notified when Windows is available.
